SC Bastia 1981 - 82 Retro Football Shirt
Basking in the afterglow of winning a first-ever major honour the previous season, Bastia’s Coupe de France success qualified them for the 1981-82 Cup Winners Cup campaign.
With a team featuring club legends Claude Papi and Charles Orlanducci - the Lion of Vescovato - and the goals of Cameroon’s Roger Milla, the Finns of KTP were easily overcome in the First Round. Unfortunately, the holders Dinamo Tbilisi proved too strong for Antoine Redin’s Bastia players in the next round, and the Corsicans exited following a 4-2 aggregate defeat.
The efforts to retain the Coupe de France were ended at the semi-final stage by Saint-Etienne, the same team that Bastia had defeated in the 1981 Final.
