Watford FC 1976 - 77 Retro Football Shirt
Two relegations in the early 1970s took Watford back to the fourth tier of the English game for the first time since 1960. Under manager Mike Keen the club briefly bottomed out and sat last in the entire Football League, but the 1976 - 77 campaign saw more promise with a strong second-half to the season bringing an 8th placed finish.
Ross Jenkins was the perpertual top scorer at the club around this time, but this season saw Keith Mercer score 25 to be voted the club's Player and Young Player of the Year. The end of the season brought an end to Keen's time and the appointment of Graham Taylor to set Watford on an incredible upward spiral over the next half dozen years.
