Led from the bench by the emerging coach Emiliano Mondonico, the team was spearheaded by the young Gianluca Vialli, whose 10 goals made him Cremo's top scorer that season. The 3-3 draw with Palermo on June 3, 1984, mathematically brought the wonderful and unique grey and red colours back to the top of Italian football, unleashing the uncontainable joy of the fans.
